Bologna is a gem in the heart of Italy, a city that offers authentic experiences with its beautiful squares, churches and medieval towers, countless markets and historic shops. It also takes pride in 40 km of arcades UNESCO heritage, in the Archiginnasio Public Library and in the oldest University in Europe. Strong historical heritage is housed in over 50 museums, from the Etruscan and Roman origins to modern and contemporary artists.
The historical city center is perfect for a stroll and most of the attractions are within walking distance. The city offers also many shopping and nightlife entertainment options.
Bologna is also the heart of the Motor Valley, one of the most incredible places in the world. Within a few kilometers it encloses the best of Italian excellence in supercars and engines: from Lamborghini to Ducati, from Maserati to Ferrari and Pagani, a high concentration of car and motorcycle manufacturers, motor racing tracks, museums and collections just in one place.

If you travel by car, you may want to know that Bologna is one of Italy’s major motorway junctions, connecting the north and south of the country.
Bologna is located along the A1, only 1 hour from Florence (southbound), and just over 2 hours from Milan (northbound). Bologna is also the gateway to the A14, running along the Adriatic side of the peninsula from Romagna all the way to Taranto. Another important motorway is the A13 towards Veneto, connecting Bologna to cities such as Ferrara and Padua, the gateway to Venice.
