The Bologna Congress Center, located inside the Bologna exhibition center, is one of the most important and well-known in Italy. Built in 1975, on a project by architects Melchiorre Bega and Lieuwe Op’t Land, the Bologna Congress Center is a jewel of contemporary architecture. It has been designed inspired by the concept of union and belonging.

The headquarters of the Faculty of Engineering in Viale Risorgimento were designed by architect Giovanni Vaccaro and inaugurated on October 28, 1935. The building aims to be both the symbol and the product of a renewed architectural culture and professional training. It is a large functional building designed to meet the needs of study and research, with a red-brick tower which houses ancient and valuable books and mimics the city center Two Towers.

HOW TO REACH THE VENUES

By bus

Download the MUVER App (only for Android phones) to get information on public transports in the city and buy tickets.

You can buy single bus tickets or city pass (ticket with 10 rides).

Bus tickets can be purchased:

  • on buses, paying cash or with a credit card in the special issuing machines
  • in tobacco shops, newsstands and TPER points
  • using the MUVER App

Please, be aware that timetables change on Saturday and Sunday because of T-days (traffic limited area in city center).

BOLOGNA TO CONGRESS CENTER

The buses going from the city center to the Bologna Congress Center and EX-GAM are no. 28, 35, 38 and 39. Get off at “Fiera Palazzo Congressi”.

BOLOGNA TO THE ENGINEERING SCHOOL (UNIVERSITY OF BOLOGNA)

The buses going from the city center to the Engineering School are no. 20, 33 and D. Get off at “Porta Saragozza – Risorgimento” (buses no. 20 and D) or at “Porta Saragozza – Villa Cassarini” (bus no. 33).

By car-sharing

To drive around the city, you can download either Corrente App or Enjoy App.

By taxi

To call a taxi use the TaxiClick App or check CoTaBo and RadioTaxiCAT (also transport of non-folding wheelchairs for disabled people).
